Rebekah HildebrandtRebekah Hildebrandt

Rebekah Hildebrandt was born and raised in the small town of Winona Lake, Indiana. She graduated from high school there with the state’s highest honors. Subsequently, she moved to Massachusetts to attend Gordon College, from which she received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Studies. As an undergraduate, she was listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, honored as a Pew Younger Scholar, and represented the impoverished African nation of Malawi at the National Collegiate Model United Nations in New York City. Additionally, she studied abroad in Israel for a term, and is presently working on her Master of American History and Government degree at Ashland University.

Professionally, Ms. Hildebrandt works in Portsmouth as an aide to U. S. Senator John E. Sununu, with whom she has served since 2001 when she was appointed to an internship in his then-Congressional office in Dover. She was also a fellow in the Vesta Roy Excellence in Public Service program for 2006-2007.

During the past decade, Ms. Hildebrandt has demonstrated a consistent devotion to community involvement and public service, evidenced by her career choice as well as extensive volunteer activities. Those activities include: tutoring disadvantaged women in preparation for the GED exam, reviewing the individual cases of, and advocating for, dozens of children in the foster care system, visiting residents of an assisted-living facility for AIDS patients, and speaking to groups about the complicated situation of teenaged parenting, in addition to her efforts with several political campaigns and events. Her leadership skills continue to be in demand as she was recently elected to her condominium association’s Board of Directors in Dover, where she lives with her son Benjamin and their embarrassingly neurotic dog Mable.
